Tie Plate

A railroad tie plate, also called base plate, is a thick panel made of steel which is used between the rail and tie or sleeper. The tie plate usually works with anchor bolt or railroad spike by sustaining the load of a rail track and transferring part of the load to the tie sleeper so that the rail will be steadier and maintained in the right gauge. Moreover, rail tie plate can also be used to extend the longevity of a new track installation so that the safety for passengers and railway workers can be better achieved.

At our plant, we own 300T~1600T forging friction press and 7 Die forging production lines with 5T electricity liquid hammers. Our forging annual capacity can reach up to 12000 tons at least, and 400,000 pieces of forging tie plates’ capacity.

Our company is the first company in China to try rolling processing onto baseplate production, based on our available rolling steel expertise, used for rail joint bar and gauge blocks. Up to now, we have successfully made out dies for rail tie plates for 11 inches, 14 inches and 14-3/4 inch for both 5-1/2 and 6 inch rail bases. Some more varieties are under negotiation with the clients as well. Based on this, we received 3 orders for rolling tie plates with total weight over than 3,000 tons.

Casting is a common technology to produce rail tie plates, which is also a cost saving way. We have two casting workshops for casting materials especially. Tie plate is a prior and hot sales for us. We are capable of developing die from most modern way to ensure the precise dimensions, from hot pre-coated sand or machining way.
